Stat*Seal
The Innovasa Stat*Seal™ utilizes the precise placement of a bandage with a medicated tip that facilitates closure within the femoral puncture tract, unlike medicated pads and facilitated compression devices which generally are placed upon the skin overlying the puncture tract.
Stat*Seal™, unlike the many occluder type femoral closure devices, does not penetrate into the blood vessel. The Stat*Seal™ facilitates hemostasis through the application of targeted focal pressure within the femoral artery puncture tract, combined with the hydrophilic drying effect of the foam tip and the pro-coagulant effect of crystalline chitosan promoting vaso-constriction, red blood cell agglutination and platelet activation. After a period of time, the Stat*Seal™ may be completely removed from the patient.
Stat*Seal™ is available in OTW (over the wire) and topical versions. Stat*Seal OTW™ is designed for deeper insertion of the Stat*Seal tip, and is generally placed in the cath lab. Stat*Seal Topical™ is designed with a shorter device stem to accommodate quick and easy placement where a guide wire is not available, such as in the post procedure recovery areas.
Stat*Seal™ leaves nothing behind and does not instrument the femoral artery. Stat*Seal™ provides a safe and secure platform for achieving and maintaining hemostasis following femoral catheterization procedures.
